Binational Mural Program

The Binational Mural Project in Agua Prieta, Sonora, was led by artist Velia Luliis whose objective is to contribute to the revitalization of what was once a bustling part of downtown, through the creation of two artworks that reflect the binationality of our community. The walls are a reflection of the flora of the region that reminds us that there are no frontiers of any kind.

As an essential point, one of the murals was done by Velia in collaboration with the Aguapreten artist Dulce Guadalupe García.

Finally, the inauguration and a social gathering with the artists, the local community and the local government took place.as.

This project aims to foster curiosity and spark conversation surrounding community, humanity, unit,y and the seamlessness of the natural environment.
